The Base Station is the brains of your system. When one sensor or camera detects danger, it sends a signal to the Base Station, which sounds the siren and notifies you immediately. If it’s unplugged or the power goes out, the 24-hour backup battery keeps you covered.

Where should my auxiliary siren go? Your Auxiliary Siren is weatherized, so you have the option of placing it under an eave or on the porch outside your home. It will draw attention to your home and alert your neighbors that something is wrong (which will not make that burglar happy).

The most obvious places to install a SimpliCam are near your main entrance and back entrance. And, while we would recommend covering these areas, it’s also a good idea to think outside the box.
Can SimpliSafe tell you what door is open?
SimpliSafe will warn you that a door or window is open with a message on the Keypad that says 1 Entry Sensor open or Entry Sensors open, and also with a voice prompt from the burglar alarm’s Base Station. Close open doors / windows.
What does red light on SimpliSafe base station mean?
A solid red light usually indicates that your Base Station’s cellular module is not connected correctly. Your system is experiencing an error (loss of power, sensor failure, etc.) Your Keypad will contain a more detailed explanation of the error in this scenario.
What happens if SimpliSafe base is destroyed?
If an intruder smashes the SimpliSafe base station within the grace period (before the alarm is set off), then the alarm will not be triggered at all. Instead, Simplisafe provides a keypad separate from the base station.

All other panic buttons and alarms will cause the siren to sound. When the Siren batteries are low, the Siren will provide 5 long beeps every time you disarm your alarm. Slide it up and off of its wall bracket, then remove the 6 screws holding the battery cover in place. Replace the batteries with 4 fresh AA batteries.
How does SimpliSafe work at night?
No, we put in Home mode at night. Everything works except Motion Detectors. If there is any movement in the house at night in the Away mode the alarm will activate. If you want to leave a window or windows open that have Entry Sensors, you can disable the individual sensors.
