You don’t have to manually set each product or rely on a fixed schedule.
What does Nest away mode do?
With a feature called Home/Away Assist, the Nest Thermostat can use its built-in sensor, as well as the GPS location from your phone, to automatically determine whether you’re home or away. From there, it can turn down the temperature if you’re away and turn it back up when it detects that you’re coming home.
Why does Nest keep saying away?
Your phone’s location doesn’t override your Nest product sensors, so if your Nest thermostat or Protect senses activity, your home will switch out of Away to Home even if your phone is not at home. Automatic switching to Home or Away can override manual switching.
How long before Nest turns away?
This is to give you some time to leave. After 5 minutes, if any of your Nest products notice you’re at home, they’ll automatically switch back to Home mode.
How do I use Nest Home Away assist?

The Away mode switches the heating OFF when there is no need for it. The Away mode will be available from the moment you will press the tick button to confirm the Away period until the same hour of the last day set.
Does Nest turn off when you leave?
The Nest learning thermostat can tell when you leave the house and save energy by turning off the heat or A/C. If you’re leaving home for vacation, however, you can save a lot more by turning your thermostat off entirely. Normally, when you leave your house, the Nest will turn on Eco Mode.
What does Orange Leaf mean on Nest thermostat?
