NOVEMBER 17TH – LEGISLATIVE SLAM A SUCCESS! On Wednesday, November 13th, 32 people representing 26 Michigan communities 
descended on Lansing, lobbied their House representatives and requested a hearing on HB 4513. Some were also able to speak with their Senators and requested a Senate version of the bill be introduced in the Senate.
Several individuals requested a conversation with Energy Committee Chairman Aric Nesbitt but he would not come out to speak with us.

JUNE 14TH – DETROIT EDISON METERS – TO OPT-OUT OR NOT?
Many of you will be receiving an Opt-Out Notice letter from DTE soon. The letter says you have 30 days to join their opt out plan, thereby agreeing to let them put a “smart” electric meter aka “AMI meter” on your home with the “radio turned off”, and that you agree to pay both an initial fee and monthly fees indefinitely for this. MICHIGAN ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE SHOWS BIAS – January 8th, 2013 – Today, at a hearing of the Michigan Public Services Commission (MPSC), administrative judge Dennis Mack excluded nearly ALL opposition evidence from being considered in the smart meter opt out case, U-17053.
