If You Are Not Brave Enough to Replace Your Own ‘Smart’ Meter | michiganstopsmartmeters

The utility had no right to install a ‘smart’ meter on your home without your knowledge and permission.  We still think the best course of action is to demand its removal, allow a reasonable time for the utility to respond, and then proceed to remove the smart meter yourself.  Instructions on where to buy your own analog meter and how to install it can be found elsewhere on this web site.

We understand that do it yourself meter replacement may not be for everyone.  So we offer another suggestion.  We have recently learned of a Canadian firm that offers a “Smart Meter Blocker”.  It is actually a 3 piece kit, consisting of a plate to cover the meter face with cutout slot to permit meter reading, a wrap around cylinder, and a plate that attaches inside the meter housing to block radio transmissions from the back of the meter into the home.

The company informs us that the kit stops 95% of all radio emissions and protects your privacy by preventing transmission of information to the utility.  This will make it necessary for utility to continue manually reading your meter.  Your utility will not be happy with your installing this since it defeats the purpose of the smart meter.  But it may turn out that the utility will have little choice but to permit it.

We have no connection with nor financial interest in the manufacturer of this kit and we are not in a position to vouch for it.  Purchase at your own risk.  But it seems like a reasonable solution for those needing an affordable solution to a pressing problem.

Another thing to keep in mind is that this product will NOT stop the dirty electricity that any smart meter will put on your home wiring.  For that problem you may need to put in Stetzer filters.
