you can shorten it and use the next ring s the tip; it will make it stiffer. but if its a good rod a local rod builder can fix the broken tip pretty easy. usually on cheap rods i just cut it down and don’t worry about it. if i need tip and have enough rod left from the broken tip i just have them put a new tip eye on.
