Breakout rooms allow you to split your Zoom meeting into separate rooms.Once the meeting is split into these smaller rooms the host or co-host can switch between the rooms at any time.
How can host move between breakout rooms?
Participants can be moved between Breakout Room sessions at any time. The host can pre-assign Breakout Rooms.
Move or Exchange Participants
- Open the ‘Breakout Rooms’ icon on the toolbar.
- Select the participant then ‘Move to’ and choose a different room.
- Select ‘Exchange’ to swap with a participant in a different room.
Can two hosts join breakout rooms?

Co-hosts can be used to provide much needed relief when running a Zoom meeting with numerous participants. Once a co-host has joined the initial breakout room assigned to them by the host, they may switch between rooms as needed — as long as they remain in the Zoom session.
Can participants move between breakout rooms in teams?
Breakout Rooms enable Meeting Organizers to separate participants of a meeting into several meetings. Organizers may randomly or manually assign participants, and can move freely between these Breakout Rooms to check-in on ongoing subgroup discussions.
Can the host listen in on breakout rooms?
Breakout room participants have full audio, video and screen sharing capabilities. The host of the meeting will not be assigned to a breakout room and cannot see or hear what is happening in the breakout rooms during the meeting.
How do I let co-host control breakout rooms?
If you would like to have your co-host(s) join breakout rooms to assist participants in those rooms, you can assign them to a room and then use the Options menu to allow your co-hosts to return to the main meeting so you can assign them to the next breakout room. To do that: Select Breakout Rooms from the Zoom toolbar.
Can co hosts make other co hosts?
The co-host feature allows the host to share hosting privileges with another user, allowing the co-host to manage the administrative side of the meeting, such as managing participants or starting/stopping the recording. The host must assign a co-host.End meeting for all participants. Make another participant a co-host.
Can a co-host make someone else a co-host?
They can admit and send people to the waiting room, but they can’t enable or disable the waiting room. Co-host can’t End a meeting. Co-host can’t turn on live streaming. Co-host can’t make someone else a co-host.

Can co-host admit participants?
Managing the Waiting Room
When participants are in the Waiting Room, Hosts and Co-hosts can admit or remove them on an individual basis. Alternatively, they can admit everyone at once by clicking Admit all.
Can co-host mute others?
The host or co-host can mute all participants that are already in the meeting, as well as new participants joining the meeting.(Optional) Check Allow participants to unmute themselves if you would like participants to be able to unmute at any time during the meeting.
Can Zoom co-hosts visit breakout rooms?
NOTE: The host will see the Breakout Rooms icon on their Zoom toolbar whether the rooms are open or closed. Co-hosts, however, will not see the Breakout Rooms option on their toolbar once the rooms are closed.
