Are ADT alarms monitored?
Your alarms will be connected to a network of ADT-owned customer monitoring centers, each strategically located throughout the U.S. These centers are staffed by trained specialists who will notify both you and the proper authorities in the event of an emergency.
What type of alarm is ADT monitored?
ADT offers smart alarms, which you can control and monitor from your mobile phone or tablet. These also come with a monitoring contract. You can buy smart alarms from other companies that don’t have monitoring contracts.
Does ADT record all the time?
All ADT cameras offer continuous, 24/7 recording with the ability to check in on your feed at any time. The device will record at all times but will only send an alert to your phone or security system if there is an alert, such as motion detection or a loud noise.
Can other companies monitor ADT equipment?
Most likely, you will find a company that can use your existing ADT equipment and wiring and monitor your alarms. Most security companies can reprogram your control panel to work with their own monitoring center, even if ADT has locked you out from using it.
Does ADT report to police?
ADT will call the police if there is an emergency that activates the alarm. ADT will attempt to call the homeowners first. If the homeowners cannot be reached, a phone call will be made to the local police dispatch. If you plan on using ADT as a home monitoring service, this is useful information to have.
Where does ADT report to?
ADT expects that their accounts will be paid and up to date. When an account falls behind or becomes delinquent, ADT reports these accounts to the credit bureau. Delinquent accounts cost companies money and show the unreliability of a borrower or customer to pay their bills.

How long does ADT keep footage?
ADT stores video camera footage for up to thirty days using the ADT Pulse software app. To preserve memory, the system sheds old footage after thirty days. Security camera footage that needs to be archived longer than thirty days should be downloaded digitally and stored on an external device.
Why does ADT only record 30 seconds?
WiFi does have its problems at times and interference from neighbors close by can cause WiFi issues depending upon what channels you are both using. ADT Cameras also have to reset before they can record another 30 second video clip depending upon what triggered events you have programmed to record video.
Does ADT watch your cameras?
Do I have to be home to control my system? No. ADT makes it easy to control your system on the go. On your mobile phone, you can stream a live feed from your cameras, see who just rang your doorbell, and even talk to any visitor using two-way audio.
What can I do with my old ADT equipment?
When we spoke with an agent from ADT, they said that once the contract is up, they will not take their equipment backso you can either leave it in the home or throw it out.
What happens to ADT equipment when you cancel?
With ADT, you will own your equipment after cancellation. You can transfer the equipment to another alarm company for monitoring. Or you can go with a new company that will supply new equipment.
Does ADT remove equipment after cancellation?
At the termination of your contract, ADT has the right to remove, disable or abandon any of the equipment they own. Typically, they’ll simply leave the equipment on the house, and you (or a new owner, if you sell) can re-activate service at any time.
What do cops do when home alarm goes off?
If an alarm goes off and no one can verify why, the data tells us it’s likely a false alarm and police treat it as such. It’s a non-verified crime. That means a slow response if at all. However, if the security company can verify the a crime is in progress, then police will respond accordingly.

How does ADT monitoring work?
ADT will strategically place sensors throughout your home, so every area is covered in a respective zone. Where does ADT monitor from?
ADT monitoring takes place over a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) Landline Phone or over a cellular network. Much like if you wanted to make a phone call, you would either do it by a landline phone or by a cell phone. The popular VOIP phone options unfortunately don’t work to provide a stable communication method.
What happens if I dont pay ADT?
You’ll pay the applicable termination fees (75% of remaining monthly charges), and ADT will send you a prepaid box with instructions on how to return your ADT equipment. If you cancel in the first six months, you might get a refund to the payment method on your ADT account after ADT receives your equipment.
