For Hive Active Heating a hub, a receiver and a thermostat are installed. When this service hasn’t been bought, the thermostat and receiver can also be installed without a hub. This is known as ‘stand-alone’ mode.
Does Hive require a hub?
The Hive Camera and Hive View do not require a Hive Hub, as their functions differ from all other Hive products. If the Hive Hub is not paired with the Hive products through the Hive app, your products will only work in standalone mode.
Does a hive thermostat work without WiFi?

Can you use a second hand Hive hub?
The existing Hub is registered to the old occupier and cannot be transferred to someone new. For any other Hive products you will not be able to use them until you have purchased a Hive Hub and created your own Hive user account.
Why is Hive hub flashing green?
Flashing Fast Green = Hub is trying to connect to the internet. Flashing Slow Green = Hub is trying to connect to the Hive servers or is in upgrade mode. Wait for 20 minutes and refresh your Hive app.

You must pay your first monthly payment under the payment plan at the point of purchase. If you buy any additional Hive product(s) at the same time as taking out a Heating Plan, you must pay for such products at the point of purchase.
Can you remove hive heating?
If you are moving home and have Hive Active Heating installed, please leave all of your Hive Active Heating kit (receiver, thermostat and any Signal Boosters) at your old home. They form part of your central heating system, so must be left for the new occupier.
