Does Arlo Q need a base station?

Arlo Q does not need a base station as it can connect directly to a WiFi router. Arlo Wire-Free cameras, on the other hand, need a base station.

Does Arlo work with 5G wifi?

Yes you can still view and control the Essential Camera (setup on 2.4g wifi) with your phone that is on 5g wifi.

Can I connect Arlo Q to base station?

The Arlo Q does not use the base station. It connects directly to your router although, unlike the wireless cameras, it will require power in order to work.

Can Arlo cameras be hacked?

Yes, it can be hacked. Arlo Pro 2 is one of Arlo’s wire-free cameras that must be used with a base station which is connected to the home’s Wi-Fi network. If the Wi-Fi network is hacked, then the cameras are vulnerable as well. Hacking into the Arlo Pro 2 is, however, not as straightforward as you might think.
