Does SmartKey work with any key?
Answer: Each SmartKey lock can be re-keyed to any SmartKey key – if you buy two re-keying sets, you can key all of your locks to one set; if you go out of town, you can just re-key one lock in your house to a different set, then give one of those keys to your neighbor/house-sitter.
How much does a replacement key cost from Chevrolet?

- Leave the key in this position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds, and then turn it off.
- Turn the key back on, and wait for additional 10 minutes and 30 seconds before turning it off again.
- Repeat the process for a third time.
Why are chip keys so expensive?
With transponder keys, the game is entirely different. First, these keys are designed with electrical components such as circuitry and a battery, which inherently makes them cost more for a locksmith to keep as stock. Each mistake can cost several to dozens of times more than on a standard metal blank.
