Why is Eon sending me monthly bills?
A bill is sent to you monthly showing your charges and the date the money will be claimed. If there’s an existing debt on your account, it must be paid before we can start this scheme. This can be done within two weeks with a one-off claim.You pay us as little or as much as you want in advance towards your next bill.
What happens if I cancel my EON direct debit?
If you cancel your Direct Debit it may affect the price you pay for the energy you use, if this is the case we’ll let you know. Your contract confirmation letter will also explain if you’re receiving lower prices for paying by Direct Debit.
Do I have to pay Eon by direct debit?
We try to get you back to a zero balance by your next annual review. That way you’re only paying for what you use and don’t build up a large debt or credit. When we review your payment, we comply with the Direct Debit Guarantee.
Why is my bill estimated when I have a smart meter Eon?
You submit your meter readings to us and we calculate your bill from the information you sent us. If we don’t have a meter reading, we’ll provide an estimated bill. This is where inaccuracies can happen, as without a meter reading we don’t know exactly how much you’ve spent.
What type of smart meters do Eon use?
From the end of 2018, we started to roll out second-generation SMETS2 smart meters, which mean you’ll stay smart even if you switch. But, don’t worry if you have one of our SMETS1 meters we’ll simply update your meter remotely to ensure it operates as a SMETS2 meter.
Do smart meters include standing charge Eon?
Your display will use your exact unit rate, however this won’t take into account any standing charges, discounts or VAT, so the cost that is shown will not exactly match that shown on your bill.
