How the free trial works
- When you set up an eligible camera that includes a Nest Aware free trial, you can try out Nest Aware for 30 days.
- You can start using Nest Aware features by turning on camera recording and setting up familiar face detection.
How do I activate Nest Aware trial?
Visit store.google.com/subscriptions. Sign in to your account, if needed. If you have more than one home, use the drop down menu at the top to select the home with the free trial you want to view.

How do I claim Nest Mini aware with Nest Aware Free?
Subscribe to an annual subscription of the new Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus between June 1, 2020 at 12am PT and September 30, 2020 at 11:59pm PT. You will receive an email with instructions for redeeming one free Nest Mini within 3 weeks.
How long does Nest record for free?
If you want to go back and review past activity your camera or doorbell has detected, you can do so in the app. Some cameras offer up to 3 hours of event video history for free, while others offer up to 3 hours of still image snapshots instead.
Does Nest record without subscription?
If you have a newer camera like Nest Cam (battery) or Nest Doorbell (battery), you can get up to 3 hours of event video history without a subscription. But for most older Nest camera and doorbell models, you need a Nest Aware subscription to get event video history or 24/7 video history.
