i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link are both GPS trolling motor systems available on Minn Kota motors. The i-Pilot system is a self-contained GPS system that is operated via a wireless remote. The i-Pilot Link system has everything the i-Pilot models has but also has the ability to communicate with a Humminbird fish finder.
Is Minn Kota i-Pilot Link worth it?
Most times, it actually allows you to fish more. If you are interested in setting up your routes or utilizing the remote control then it is worth having.
Can you upgrade from i-Pilot to i-Pilot Link?
Minn Kota has upgrade kits available for both i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link. These kits are easy to install and provide you and your trolling motor with all of the great i-Pilot GPS features like Spot Lock, iTracks and more.
Is i-Pilot worth the money?

What does i-Pilot Link do?
i-Pilot Link allows your Minn Kota and Humminbird to communicate with each other to change the way you fish. With Link, you can take command of your motor from the wireless remote or your Humminbird.
Does i-Pilot Link work with Lowrance?
I-Pilot is the stand alone version. It does not connect to any sonar. Meaning, you can use it while owning a lowrance sonar.

Can you put a Terrova head on a PowerDrive?
Unfortunately, PowerDrive models produced before 2007 are not compatible. i-Pilot Link can be added to Terrova, Riptide Terrova (ST), PowerDrive V2, Riptide PowerDrive V2 (SP), and Ulterra models.
Do all Terrova have spot lock?
With the included heading sensor, you can use Jog to move your Spot-Lock location five feet in any direction. Activate Spot-Lock from the i-Pilot remote or Humminbird fish finder.

Can you use a foot pedal with i-Pilot?
Ulterra, Terrova and Riptide Terrova motors: When these models are equipped with either i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link you can still use your corded foot pedal to control the motor.
Is the i-Pilot remote waterproof?
The i-Pilot GPS system can be paired with multiple wireless remotes. Add extra remotes to your setup for increased flexibility. Compact and waterproof, this new remote features a larger LCD screen, ergonomic buttons and an easy-access battery compartment.

As you know Terrova is the least expensive and the only difference between Terrova and Ulterra is the auto deploy/stow feature. They both have handheld remotes and electric foot pedals. I had a gen1 Terrova which was a great TM but upgraded to the Ulterra primarily for the improved SpotLock and Auto Deploy/Stow.
Does Garmin work with i-Pilot?

Can Lowrance talk to Minn Kota?
Absolutely. Ultrex motors equipped with the i-Pilot system operate completely independent of the fish finder.
Does Lowrance Ghost have spot lock?
Ghost Trolling Motor – Does Ghost have Spotlock or a similar anchoring feature? Yes, Ghost has Anchor Mode, which holds your vessel in one spot. Anchor Mode can be activated from the foot pedal and from the touchscreen of an HDS Live, HDS Carbon, and Elite-Ti2.

Does the Minn Kota Terrova have a built-in transducer?

Do you need heading sensor for spot lock?
This Bluetooth-enabled heading sensor contains a compass that detects your boat’s heading and communicates it to your trolling motor to enable the Spot-Lock Jog feature, which lets you move your Spot-Lock location in 5 ft. increments in any direction.
