What type of thread is used to wrap fishing rods?
Rod builders have traditionally used nylon, and in some cases silk thread. Over the past few years other threads have been showing up more often, in particular Metallics (yes, I know they were around in the 80’s), and more recently the Polyester threads (like Maderia).
How long does rod epoxy take to dry?
Generally, at room temperature most epoxy thread finishes will set beyond movement in about 2 to 3 hours. I would suggest you set your rotation timer to stop at 3 hours but leave the rod alone until the next day.

How long does pro Kote take to dry?
The Pro Kote is a good brand mainly you would want an epoxy with at least a 15 minuet working time. In my experience building rods and installing guides it takes at least 12 hours for the epoxy to harden and cure on the guide.
