If it stays in the area I want it to stay I will probably check it every 20-30 minutes or so, unless I can tell the bait is still on it. This is usually easy with a minnow, as you can see it moving the bobber. If I’m bottom fishing with a sinker, I’ll reel it in and check the bait roughly every 20 minute.
